My 5 Must Haves - Barre edition

  1. Good wrist/ankle weights

Adding 1-3 lbs to your wrists or ankles can completely change the game in class. I love to use these as an alternative to the hand weight options in class or when I’m looking for an extra burn.

My personal favorites are the Bala Bangles. I find they are super easy to take on and off (big plus for the quick transitions in class), and they don’t create uncomfortable points that cut into my skin, unlike other types I’ve tried before.

Grab a pair for yourself here!

  2. Extra mat

This little mat helps provide some cushion to my wrists and knees. It makes planks and seat work much nicer!

    Here’s the one I use.

  3. Good grip socks

While I could grab some grip socks from the studio I go to, I love to get the most bang for my buck, and this 3-pack does just that. Grip socks are the must-have accessory for anyone but especially as you work to get your strength back.

The ones I love are here (and an extra bonus, they are from a small business!)

  4. Modifications

I’ve been checking my ego at the class door. I may be one of the only people in class needing a modification for an exercise we are doing, but I would rather do the modification to keep going than stop.

  5. Patience

This last must-have is probably the most important one on this list…getting back into shape is hard. End of story.
